The Church of Jesus Christ donates thousands of meals to support the fight against hunger

With many finding it difficult to feed themselves and their families, Harvesters—The Community Food Network is doing its best in helping such people. Their mission is to feed the hungry people today and work to end hunger tommorow. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints seeing their effort reached out to help.

Donation of food items were made on the 24 of January to the Harvesters-The community food network in Kansas City. Elders from the church joined in making the donation. The church donated over 35000 meals to the organization. This has always been the tradition of the church in showing love to the less privilege as it is the season of light the world.

The Governor of the State of Missouriof Mike Parson tweeted “In Kansas City this morning, we not only celebrated the @Chiefs incredible win, but also celebrating approx 40,000 lbs. of shelf-stable food being donated to the @HarvestersORG.” The governor did not end there, he added another tweet by saying, “Teresa & I are grateful to the Latter-day Saints of Greater Kansas City for this generous donation made on our behalf. We have learned about the organization’s good work supporting the community through food pantry and food distribution centers like the @HarvestersORG.”
